Why were Evangelical leaders so impressed with Israeli President Herzog during our meeting on Monday? Here’s what they told me

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL – As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with President Donald J. Trump at the White House in Washington on Monday, Israeli President Isaac Herzog was welcoming nearly 50 American pastors, ministry leaders, and our spouses to his Official Residence at nearly the same time.

The hour-long meeting was off-the-record.

Thus, I’m not at liberty to share direct quotes of what Herzog told us.

Should Israel be more interested in evangelicals than American Jews?

As a crisis builds with Jewish support remaining iffy, former ambassador Ron Dermer’s suggestion about the need for allies rather than critical friends raises an important dilemma.

(May 12, 2021 / JNS) Now that he’s no longer Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer is free to tell it completely like it is. Speaking at a conference hosted by the Makor Rishon publication, the American-born Dermer made a pronouncement that was bound to raise the hackles of many American Jews.

Asked if the government led by his former boss, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, had placed too much emphasis on outreach to evangelical Christians in

A TRIBUTE TO ONE OF THE GREATEST FRIENDS OF THE JEWISH STATE

Sheldon Adelson was great friend to the Jewish people and the Jewish state. He left behind a noble legacy.

For Israeli right, Trump’s Mideast legacy will outshine his last days

The outgoing president set a new standard among Republicans for what it means to be pro-Israel.

(January 18, 2021 / JNS) For most of the Israeli right, U.S. President Donald Trump’s pro-Israel legacy will outlive other elements of his controversial presidency, particularly his last days in office.

Pro-Trump leaders, activists and analysts said that the Jan. 6 mob invasion of the U.S. Capitol, for the most part, will not change the nationalist camp’s high regard for the Trump administration’s pro-Israel achievements, which include moving the

Netanyahu’s Christmas message: Israel has ‘no better friend’ than Christians

“We are proud of our traditions. We are proud of our Christian friends. The State of Israel would not have come into being if it weren’t for the avid support of Christians in the 19th century, in the 20th century as well and in the 21st century,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said.

Johnson leads race to succeed May, but he’s not the only pro-Israel would-be PM

A dozen Conservative MPs are jostling to replace UK leader, and several would maintain her support for Israel. A key question is who would defeat Corbyn in the next election.

LONDON — Theresa May has been on political death row since the moment two years ago that she spectacularly fumbled a general election which, at the outset of the campaign, had looked set to return her Conservative party with a landslide victory.

In a few short weeks, the British prime minister blew a 20-point opinion poll lead, squandered the parliamentary majority bequeathed by her predecessor David Cameron, and nearly succeeded in allowing the hard-left opposition leader, Jeremy Corbyn, into Downing Street.
