Will Trump strike a deal or strike Iran’s nuclear sites? THE ROSENBERG REPORT is hearing mixed signals

‘Pray for peace but prepare for war,’ says Joel Rosenberg.

(Photo: Screenshot/TBN's The Rosenberg Report)

“War – or a deal?” The pressing question on the table is making Israeli leaders “anxious,” according to ALL ISRAEL NEWS Editor-in-Chief Joel Rosenberg.

Are the United States and Israel preparing to launch massive military strikes against Iran in the near future? Or is U.S. President Donald Trump genuinely attempting to strike a diplomatic deal that would force Tehran to give up its nuclear ambitions, while leaving the Iranian regime intact?

“No American president has ever been tougher on Iran than Donald Trump, and no American president has ever been more pro-Israel than Donald Trump, but I need to be honest with you: President Trump is sending mixed signals,” Rosenberg said in the latest episode of his program, THE ROSENBERG REPORT, which airs weekly on TBN.

Iran, Russia, and Turkey: A Eurasionist Model of Foreign Relations

BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 2,078, June 22, 2021

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Iran, Turkey, and Russia are building a new model of bilateral ties. Unshackled by formal alliances, the trio is showing it can work together to limit Western influence while avoiding an overreliance on one another. This mixture of correlating and contradictory interests, which characterizes the new Eurasianist model of bilateral relations, is a product of the changing global order.

Because Westerners tend to place the idea of cooperation among nations under a

(JTA) — An abandoned and ancient synagogue in Libya is being turned into an Islamic religious center without permission, the World Organization of the Jews of Libya said.

David Gerbi, a Libya-born Italian Jew and member of the organization, which promotes the interests of people belonging to the Libyan Jewish Diaspora, wrote about the Sla Dar Bishi in Tripoli last week in a report published by Moked, a Jewish publication in Italy.

“Since there is now no Jew living in Tripoli and since the power is in the hands of the local authorities (read: Militias) it was decided to violate our property and our

Will Russia and Turkey withdraw their proxies from Libya?

The UN delivers a potentially game-changing win for diplomacy, but the United States wants Russian and Turkish mercenaries out of Libya.

‘Critical step’ at beginning of ‘long road’ in Libya

Much attention this week has been focused on the Biden administration’s jump-start to diplomacy to end the war in Yemen, which the UN has tagged the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, as we report here.

But there is perhaps even better news in the region’s other major conflict zone, Libya.

The “Arab Spring” a Decade On

BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 1,850, December 17, 2020

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The 10 years of the so-called “Arab Spring”—the last of which is the year of COVID-19—have brought many Arab countries to the edge of the abyss. The worst may be yet to come if President-elect Joe Biden takes expected steps that would be in the interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Erdoğan’s Costly “Make Turkey Great Again” Program

BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 1,785, October 25, 2020

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s “Make Turkey Great Again” campaign has come with military, diplomatic, geostrategic, and economic costs. Turkey’s posturing as a military might has been met with a Moody’s downgrade of Turkey’s credit rating to B2, putting the country on a level with Egypt, Jamaica, and Rwanda.

Turkey’s per capita income is barely $8,900. Its economy is suffering double-digit inflation and unemployment rates. A quarter of Turkish youth are unemployed. On September 21, the Turkish lira sank below a previous all-time low of 7.60 to the US

7 + 3: Greece As Part of a Mediterranean Bloc

BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 1,769, October 5, 2020

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Given the historical ties of Athens with Middle Eastern countries, Greece is an ideal candidate to play a pivotal role in a Mediterranean bloc to include Israel, Gulf States, and European countries with the object of repelling Turkey’s expansionist ambitions. The participation of Greece could help the region reach its economic and political potential amid the dispute over local energy reserves.

The power shift in the Middle East over the past several years has reshaped the political challenges facing several of its constituent countries, and has led them to consider a possible expansion of their framework of relations. Considering Turkey’s

Why Do the Arabs Hate the Palestinians?

BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 1,758, September 24, 2020

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: For many reasons, the Arab world is not at all interested in giving the Palestinian Arabs a state. The Palestinian Arabs don’t really want one either, because why kill the “refugee” goose that lays the golden eggs?

In Israel and in much of the Western world, we tend to think the Arab world is united in its support for the Palestinians—that it wants nothing more than to solve the Palestinian problem by giving them a state, and that all Arabs and Muslims love the Palestinians and hate Israel. This is a simplistic and incomplete view. While it is
