Yair Netanyahu: 'Israeli media is ‘so radical, North Korea could take lessons’

Netanyahu suggested that media bias, both in Israel and internationally, played a role in shifting global opinion against Israel so quickly after the October 7 massacre.

Yair Netanyahu, son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, sharply criticized the Israeli media in a wide-ranging interview on Standpoint, a podcast hosted by Gabe Groisman.

"The legacy media in Israel is so radical that North Korean television could take lessons from them in how to produce propaganda," Netanyahu said, accusing mainstream outlets of bias and political manipulation.

Swords of Iron: The Response in Asia

BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 2,236, November 22, 2023

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Hamas’s surprise attack on October 7 and the Swords of Iron War that followed have implications for the countries of the Indo-Pacific. On the one hand, China has clearly taken an anti-Israeli stance. It has essentially abandoned its neutral position in the region, stood against the United States, and strengthened the China-Russia-Iran-North Korea axis. But India, as well as Japan and South Korea to some extent, have stood by Israel’s side. This represents a clear expression of the (mainly security-related) rapprochement that has occurred among India, Japan, and Israel in recent years. It also reflects growing concern about the strengthening anti-Israel axis and raises questions about global stability and the future of Taiwan. Another issue troubling these countries is the potential impact of the war on energy stability.

Iran’s Global Terror Network Lurks Behind Its Threats of Vengeance

BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 1,879, January 11, 2021

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Iran’s repeated threats to avenge the reported assassination of its chief nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who was shot dead outside Tehran in November, raise the likelihood of Iranian armed action against Israeli targets. The threats also serve as a reminder that Iran has a long history of both sponsoring terrorism and actively engaging in it with its own personnel, and that it has spent decades building a global, highly active Shiite terror network.

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who attended North Korea’s 2013 underground atomic bomb test, was responsible for the weaponization phase of the Iranian nuclear program,

BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 1,795, November 2, 2020

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The vast, uninterrupted territory that contains North Korea, China, Pakistan, and Iran has greater geostrategic importance today than ever before. Of the two outermost countries of that territory, an anonymous senior US administration official recently said that “Iran and North Korea have resumed cooperation in the framework of a project on long-range missiles that includes the transfer of core components.”

On September 8, 2020, a meeting took place between Chairman of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament Mojtaba Zolnouri and North Korean Ambassador to Iran Han Sung-joo. The meeting was held to discuss the launch of financial and barter networks between the two countries. US

Iran and the Middle East space race

As the world grappled with the coronavirus pandemic and oil prices hit record lows, and amid wider tensions with the United States, Iran successfully launched its first military satellite, Noor-1.

(May 3, 2020 / JNS) Israel is currently leading in the Middle East “space race,” but several countries in the region are quickly catching up; Iran, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt are all developing their own space programs. Israel and Iran are among the dozen or so countries in the world capable of building their own satellites, launching them from their territory and maneuvering them in space.

Tens of Millions of Europeans Have Demonic Views of Israel

BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 1,494, March 20, 2020

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Tens of millions of European citizens have a demonic view of Israel. This manifests itself in a variety of ways, the most serious of which is comparing Israel’s actions against the Palestinians to those of the Nazis against the Jews. The demonization of Israel leads to antisemitic insults directed against Jews in general. The EU and its member states, but also the Israeli government, have been greatly negligent in dealing with this problem.

Nikki Haley's perfect interview about the UN

Nikki Haley is a powerhouse of a woman making a difference for Israel, and for humankind, at the United Nations. In a place run by tyrants, dictators, and human rights abusers, this is no small feat, but she is “turning the battleship around.” The place has not changed yet, but she has started the process. It is long and hard, but Nikki Haley is putting her foot down in a way that no American administration ever has, and she is making waves.

Likud minister: Kim summit shows Trump can deal with tyrants; bring on Rouhani

Gilad Erdan says similar meeting with Iran's president would 'not be terrible,' as long as goal remains to end Tehran's nuke program and change the 'nature of the regime'.

Trump’s North Korean Strategy is Terrifying Iran

The North Korean media reported Sunday that Syrian President Bashar Assad is due in Pyongyang for an official state visit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.

Much of the instant media commentary regarding the announcement claimed that it is nothing more than a testament to the deep, long-standing ties between the two isolated nations, whose rogue behavior has caused both to be shunned by the international community.

The problem with this interpretation is that neither leader is isolated.
