Donald Trump y Delcy Rodríguez anuncian un acuerdo que otorga a EE.UU. el control de más del 20% de las reservas de petróleo de Venezuela


El presidente de Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, y la presidenta interina de Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, anunciaron este viernes un acuerdo que otorgaría al país norteamericano el control mayoritario de 17 yacimientos y más de 65.000 millones de barriles de reservas probadas de petróleo venezolano.

Los 65.000 millones de barriles representarían aproximadamente el 21,5% de las reservas probadas de Venezuela, estimadas en unos 303.000 millones por la Administración de Información Energética de EE.UU. (EIA)

También equivaldrían al 141% de las reservas probadas de crudo y condensado de Estados Unidos, que ascendían a 46.000 millones de barriles al cierre de 2024, según la misma agencia.

En lo que representa el mayor avance diplomático desde el inicio de las hostilidades, Israel, el Líbano y los Estados Unidos firmaron este viernes un acuerdo marco trilateral. Tras cuatro intensos días de mediación estadounidense (que completaron la quinta ronda de negociaciones bilaterales), ambas naciones han sentado las bases para futuros acuerdos que buscan el fin definitivo del conflicto y un arreglo de paz duradero.

El Secretario de Estado de EE. UU., Marco Rubio, celebró la firma asegurando que el pacto “comienza a establecer un marco para una paz y seguridad duraderas”.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is imposing sanctions on Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories, over her efforts to have the International Criminal Court take action against US and Israeli officials, companies, and executives.

“Albanese’s campaign of political and economic warfare against the United States and Israel will no longer be tolerated,” Rubio said Wednesday in a post on X/Twitter.

El Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU aprueba el plan de alto el fuego de Trump en Gaza

El Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU aprobó el 17 de noviembre una resolución redactada por Estados Unidos que respalda el plan de alto el fuego en Gaza del presidente Donald Trump, un componente central de la estrategia de Washington para poner fin al conflicto de dos años entre Israel y el grupo terrorista Hamás.

Trump felicitó a la ONU por la votación en una publicación en Truth Social.

While at least seven countries are reportedly planning to officially declare recognition of Palestinian statehood for the first time, the conference may be just as notable for those who will not be there.

(Sept. 6, 2025 / JNS)  “The United States has never asked Israel not to apply sovereignty” in Judea and Samaria, Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee told broadcaster Channel 14 on Friday.

Huckabee’s statement came on the backdrop of Hebrew-language reports claiming that Washington asked Jerusalem not to advance policies that could cause harm the stability of the Palestinian Authority.

An entire UN commission investigating Israel, consisting of three members, have announced their resignations.

“I regret to advise that owing to age, medical issues and the weight of several other commitments, I feel compelled to retire as a member of the Commission,” commission chair Navi Pillay wrote in a letter to the President of the UN’s Human Rights Council on July 8. “I hereby submit notice of my resignation with effect on 3 November 2025.”

The other members of the commission, Miloon Kothari and Chris Sodoti, submitted letters of resignation in the subsequent two days.

Britain, France and Germany have warned they will restore United Nations sanctions on Iran by the end of August if the regime fails to make meaningful progress towards reviving its nuclear deal commitments.

The three countries – known as the E3 – met in New York this week to discuss reactivating the 2015 nuclear accord’s “snapback” clause, which allows for the automatic return of sanctions if Iran breaches the agreement.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu intends to travel to Washington, D.C., in order to promote a hostage-ceasefire deal and normalization with Syria, Israel’s Channel 12 News reported on Friday.

The report comes amid growing optimism in the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump that an end to the Gaza War could be near, along with a deal to release the remaining hostages.

El ministro de Exteriores de Francia, Jean-Noël Barrot, aseguró en la sede de la ONU en Nueva York que el riesgo de proliferación nuclear en el mundo “nunca había sido tan alto” debido, en parte, a que Irán “está en proceso de adquirir armas nucleares”.

“Hace diez años, Irán se comprometió ante la comunidad internacional a frenar sus actividades nucleares. Hoy, (el país) ha superado todos los umbrales a los que se había comprometido”, señaló en una rueda de prensa posterior a una sesión del Consejo de Seguridad sobre la no proliferación de armamento nuclear.
