The Dutch Centre for Israel Studies (Centrum voor Israël Studies, https://www.hetcis.nl/english) initiated a unique project 1.5 years ago, in which Orthodox rabbis and Christian theologians began to write together about the Book of the Prophet Isaiah. More than 2,000 Dutch theologians and church members receive an email every two weeks with a new episode. In this article, more information will be provided about the project and its background.

The Isaiah Project is a continuation of the Centre’s commitment to the ongoing dialogue between Jews and Christians concerning the interpretation of the Bible. This initiative followed the Parasha Project, in which Dutch Christians received a Jewish commentary on the Parashat HaShavuah (for those interested in these contributions in Dutch, please click on the link).

Is there new evidence of Jewish Temple treasures in the Vatican?

There are several people alive that can personally attest to being eyewitnesses of the Vatican possessing Temple vessels, including the Menorah candelabra.

Pretend for a moment that the Vatican has in its possession some sacred and precious relics that were originally in the Herodian Jewish Temple located in Jerusalem 1,950 years ago.

If you were the pope living in the 14th century and could verify this fact, would you not ask yourself how indeed such Jewish artifacts had come to your residence in the first place?

Rabbi Stephen Slater talks a lot about God. He credits his Baptist missionary parents.

(JTA) — Rabbi Stephen Slater’s rabbinate breaks the mold in all sorts of ways.

Though he graduated from the unaffiliated Hebrew College Rabbinical School, he identifies with the Conservative movement and is the only one of the suburban Boston school’s graduates to join the movement’s rabbinic group.

Though Slater came to the rabbinate as the culmination of a decade of spiritual searching, he has thrown himself into interfaith and social justice work at the Alabama synagogue he has led for the past three years, spearheading the growth of a visitor’s center highlighting the Birmingham synagogue’s role in the civil rights struggle and developing close relationships with local Black pastors.

Conan O’Brien tries to convert to Judaism in 90 minutes, and it’s HILARIOUS!

Conan O’Brien decides to convert in just an hour and a half. Watch Conan confront the Rabbi on the basic issues of deciding to become a Jew. They don’t discuss whether O’Brien is a very Jewish name. But, they do delve into some of the Jewish customs of conversion.

Conan’s Bar-Mitzvah

He even takes it up a notch and experiences what it would be like to have a Bar-Mitzvah. OK – this is all fake. It is actually ridiculous. But Conan is really funny. And it’s great that he came to Israel to have some fun and produce some off-the-cuff humor on the streets of Israel.
