With less than a week to go until the tense United States presidential elections, documentary filmmaker Maya Zinshtein hopes to shed light on the Evangelical Christian community that helped vote Donald Trump into the White House — a community that has a wealth of influence in Israel.

An American evangelical leader who advises US President Donald Trump on Israel announced that he will present an award to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Mike Evans, one of Trump’s informal group of evangelical advisers, said Wednesday that he would award his “Friends of Zion” award to Putin to honor the role of the Soviet Union in saving Jews during World War II. Evans was visiting Israel this week for the World Holocaust Forum.

Friends of Zion Museum Honors Mayor Nir Barkat of Jerusalem

This month, the Friends of Zion Museum honored Mayor Nir Barkat of Jerusalem with an award of appreciation. Mayor Nir Barkat is finishing his last few months of his mayoral term and is looking to head into national politics. Mayor Barkat is one of the major reasons that tourism in Jerusalem is dramatically increasing as well as one of the major reasons that the city is becoming a big hub for Israeli start-up businesses.
