“It’s the response to the post-October 7 argument that the two-state solution is still viable,” said David Friedman, describing his forthcoming book, “One Jewish State.” Friedman was interviewed by Jerusalem Post Editor-in-chief Zvika Klein at the Jerusalem Post Conference on Monday, where he discussed the book and his strategy for ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

‘Future of Judea & Samaria’: Former US envoy unveils sovereignty plan

Former Ambassador David Friedman's proposal "protects Israel's security, respects biblical covenants and affords civil rights and human dignity to all."

Israel suffered the worst massacre in its history on Oct. 7, at the hands of Hamas—an Iranian terror proxy that was voted into power and continues to be supported by the majority of Palestinians in Gaza. The attack proved longstanding Israeli fears that any independent Palestinian entity without overriding Israeli security control would become a staging ground for barbaric terrorism against the Jewish state.

And now, as Israel fights to permanently remove Hamas, a U.S.-designated terror organization, from the Gaza Strip, key members of the international community, including the United States and the United Kingdom, are doubling down on calls for the creation of a

EE.

In book, Kushner says Netanyahu was unenthusiastic on Jerusalem recognition

In upcoming memoir, former US President’s son-in-law said to claim Trump considered nixing the move given the PM’s cool response.

Jared Kushner, the son-in-law and senior advisor to former US president Donald Trump, reveals in an upcoming book that when Trump decided to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and move the US embassy there in 2017, then-prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s reaction was decidedly tepid.

The book, “Breaking History: A White House Memoir,” is set to be published on August 23 but was posted on a Saudi website earlier this week and reveals Netanyahu’s cool response almost sabotaged the plan.

Ambassador David Friedman: Israel must ‘grow up’ and decide its eastern border

“Ultimately, without the application of sovereignty, at least in portions of Judea and Samaria, they’ll never be a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” he told JNS.

(May 26, 2022 / JNS) Israel and Israel alone can make decisions fateful to its future, and it can start with reaching clarity about its eastern border, said former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman at the second Israeli Conservatism Conference, which took place in Jerusalem on Thursday.

Israel should base its policies “upon a national consensus as to what is in its best interest” and then defend that policy “without condition or apology,” he said.

Trump wanted to scrap peace plan unless Abbas approved - Kushner

Trump only wanted to proceed with Abbas’s approval even though Kushner explained that the logic of the deal was “heads you win, tails they lose.”

Sledgehammer review: David Friedman comes out swinging on Trump and Israel

The former US ambassador has written a predictably unsubtle memoir, aimed squarely at the 2024 Republican primary.

David Friedman was Donald Trump’s ambassador to Israel. But that job title alone fails to adequately convey his proximity to the 45th president and his impact on US policy. Their time together marked a repudiation of Barack Obama’s vision for the Middle East. Sledgehammer, Friedman’s memoir, reminds the reader of all of this as insistently as its title suggests.

With Friedman’s assistance, the US helped forge the Abraham Accords, normalizing relations between Israel and four Arab countries. The US also moved its embassy to Jerusalem and left the Iran nuclear deal. As for the Palestinians, put it this way: they no longer occupy rent-free space in the Republican conscience.

White House senior adviser Jared Kushner said Monday that US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital yielded an “explosion of peace” in the region.

“It turns out Jerusalem is not the cause of the problem — it is the core of the solution,” Kushner said at a tree-planting ceremony in the capital’s Grove of Nations.

The US quietly makes major shift on Israel-Palestine policy

Photo: Zvonimir Atletic via shutterstock.com

When the United Arab Emirates announced its intention to normalize relations with Israel, they justified the decision — which was highly unpopular in the Arab world — in part by claiming that in exchange for normalization, Israel had agreed to shelve their plans to annex much of the territory of the West Bank. Critics argued that annexation was an ongoing process, and that settlement expansion and incorporation of that infrastructure into Israel was continuing, so it wasn’t much of a concession on Israel’s part.

This week, the United States and Israel proved those critics correct when they announced revisions to agreements governing scientific cooperation.
