EE. UU. dejará de cooperar en ciencia y tecnología con entidades israelíes en Judea y Samaria, Altos del Golán y Jerusalén Este


EE. UU. le dijo a Israel que cesará la cooperación científica y tecnológica con entidades en Judea y Samaria (Cisjordania), los Altos del Golán y Jerusalén Este, volviendo a una política de larga data que se había revertido bajo Donald Trump, informó The Times of Israel.

La cadena Kan dijo que la medida es un regreso a la directiva de que no habría cooperación científica y tecnológica en las áreas definidas por un funcionario anónimo del Departamento de Estado de EE. UU. como más allá de la Línea Verde de 1967 y “que siguen sujetas a negociaciones sobre su estado permanente”.

La política se revirtió brevemente bajo Trump, cuando el primer ministro Benjamín Netanyahu y el entonces embajador de los EE. UU., David Friedman, firmaron un acuerdo que eliminaba todas las restricciones geográficas anteriores de la cooperación científica de los dos países.

Holocaust survivor publishes PhD dissertation on ‘serendipity’ of Balfour

Paul Goldstein, whose studies were interrupted in WWII, became one of the oldest doctoral recipients in the world when he graduated last year from Israel’s Ariel University.

Paul Goldstein is not the oldest person to receive a PhD, but he comes pretty close. In September 2020, Goldstein earned a doctorate in political science from Israel’s Ariel University at age 87.

In September 2021, Goldstein’s dissertation on the Balfour Declaration was published as a book by Cambridge Scholars Publishing, another achievement he could not have foreseen earlier in his life.

Why Samaria is key to Israel’s future and its past

Judea and Samaria, two large pieces of land that are the key to the future of the State of Israel. The Jewish People also have a great connection, as it is these pieces of land where their history happened.




Judea and Samaria

Judea and Samaria are ancient names, Samaria refers to the ancient Kingdom of Israel, also known as the Northern Kingdom. Judea is the Kingdom of Judah, also known as the Southern Kingdom. These are the terms that the area of land is referred to in the Bible, in the Book of Kings. It wasn’t until Menachem Begin, became Prime Minister of Israel that the term Judea and Samaria region caught on. Before the area of land was referred to as the West Bank.
