SCOOP: ‘Read history books,’ UN adviser Albanese told after claiming Jews only well-treated in Arab lands post-Inquisition
“There’s the great myth of peaceful coexistence of Jews in the Arab countries, which is a staple of Palestinian propaganda,” Lyn Julius, cofounder of a group focused on Jews of the Middle East and North Africa, told JNS.

(July 10, 2026 / JNS) Francesca Albanese, special United Nations rapporteur for the Palestinians who has a long history of making anti-Israel comments, ought to read a book after her claim that Jews have been treated only in exemplary fashion in Arab lands since the Inquisition ended in the 19th century.
“Francesca Albanese can either read history books if she wished to—obviously she doesn’t—or she can meet people like my wife,” David Harris, executive vice chair of the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy, told JNS.

UK urged to join Francesca Albanese resignation call after ‘enemy of humanity’ speech
Foreign Secretary asked to join France, Germany, Italy, Austria and Czechia, who have said the UN Special Rapporteur should go.
The British government is being urged to follow the lead of countries including Italy, Germany and France in calling for the resignation of the UN’s Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, after comments she made at an Al Jazeera forum last week which appeared to refer to Israel as “the common enemy of humanity”.

Jerusalem, the Heavy Stone
It is difficult not to discern in our time the “last days” announced by the prophets. More than ever, Jerusalem appears as “the heavy stone,” according to the word of Zechariah: “I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all peoples; all who lift it will surely injure themselves” (Zech. 12:3).
This word is strikingly relevant today. All nations are concerned—not only Israel’s declared enemies. The “wound” does not come from any aggression on Jerusalem’s part, but from the persistent attempt of the nations to redefine or control it. In reality, they are the ones who wound themselves.

"The U.N. has violated its mandate—UNIFIL's time is up,” Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Danny Danon told JNS.

(Oct. 30, 2025 / JNS) Danny Danon, the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, accused the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon of violating its mission on Thursday after it shot down an Israeli drone.
Danon told JNS exclusively that a letter sent on Monday from Jean-Pierre Lacroix, the U.N. under-secretary-general for peace operations, about the UNIFIL shootdown of the drone was “an admission of violating the mandate given to it by the Security Council, and is a violation of Resolution 1701.”

The 1922 League of Nations Mandate's Article 6 still legally binds the United Nations today

In the world of international diplomacy and the campaign to delegitimize Jewish sovereignty in its ancestral heartland, a foundational truth is often ignored. It is a truth not found in failed political agreements, but in international law.
That truth is the legal power of the Mandate for Palestine, specifically Article 6, and its clear instruction to “facilitate Jewish immigration “ and “close settlement by Jews on the land.”
