(July 10, 2026 / JNS)  Francesca Albanese, special United Nations rapporteur for the Palestinians who has a long history of making anti-Israel comments, ought to read a book after her claim that Jews have been treated only in exemplary fashion in Arab lands since the Inquisition ended in the 19th century.

“Francesca Albanese can either read history books if she wished to—obviously she doesn’t—or she can meet people like my wife,” David Harris, executive vice chair of the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy, told JNS.

Antisemitic offences in Spain rose 86 percent last year amid the country’s highest total hate incidents on record, according to a report from the Spanish government.

Jews were targeted in 69 hate crimes and incidents in 2025, up from 37 in 2024, according to a report released last week by Spain’s Interior Ministry. Islamophobic attacks also increased from 15 to 35 incidents.

There are some ideas so unthinkable, so preposterous, that they are dismissed with a chuckle and a wave of the hand. That is, until they happen.

One such notion: the declaration of a caliphate, not in the dusty expanses of the Middle East, but here – amid the boulevards and bookshops of Europe. A preposterous idea, surely. Like a bishop moonlighting as a nightclub bouncer. And yet, here we are.

(April 29, 2025 / JNS)  April 22, 2025, may be remembered as a turning point in the history of Israeli public diplomacy—and rightly so. On that day, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs harnessed the power of social media to expose the Palestinian Authority as the enemy it is.

From the official @Israel account on X, a powerful statement was posted: “The Palestinian Authority isn’t educating children, it’s indoctrinating them. Maps without Israel. Teachers praising martyrdom. Textbooks that glorify terror. As long as they teach hate, there’s no hope for peace. Stop ignoring it. Stop funding education that leads to terror.”

De tal manera que la información “coloca cosas en formación”; por ejemplo, posiciona “opresores” ante “oprimidos” o alinea a la audiencia con viejos estereotipos y “teorías” que colocan a los judíos como encarnación o envidados del mal.
