Netanyahu: If I’m re-elected, I’ll extend sovereignty to West Bank settlements

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed on Saturday to extend Israeli sovereignty to the settlements of the West Bank if he is re-elected in Tuesday’s elections.

Flatly ruling out Palestinian statehood, which he said would “endanger our existence,” Netanyahu promised to permanently maintain overall Israeli security control in the West Bank and to formalize Israeli rule over the 400,000-plus Israeli Jews in the settlements. This would apply not only to major settlement blocs, but also to isolated settlements, he indicated.

El primer ministro, Benjamín Netanyahu, le dijo al presidente de Brasil, Jair Bolsonaro, que espera que la apertura de una oficina de negocios en Jerusalén sea seguida por el traslado de la embajada del país sudamericano a la ciudad santa “cuando llegue el momento” luego que líder brasileño pareciera retractarse de su promesa inicial de cumplir con la controversial decisión.

Bolsonaro precisó que la oficina que abrirá en Jerusalén tendrá carácter comercial, para promover la tecnología y la innovación, como parte de la embajada brasileña en Tel Aviv.

"Nos aproximamos a países que están alineados con nosotros en las tradiciones, la cultura, la democracia, y la fe en Dios. Abriremos en Jerusalén una oficina para promover el comercio, la inversión, la tecnología e innovación", reveló en una rueda de prensa conjunta con el primer ministro, Benjamín Netanyahu.
