The SECRET RIVER at the DEAD SEA - a sneak peek

Saudi Arabia's defense minister delivered a blunt message to Iranian officials in Tehran last month: take President Donald Trump's offer to negotiate a nuclear agreement seriously because it presents a way to avoid the risk of war with Israel.

Alarmed at the prospect of further instability in the region, Saudi Arabia's 89-year-old King Salman bin Abdulaziz dispatched his son, Prince Khalid bin Salman, with the warning destined for Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to two Gulf sources close to government circles and two Iranian officials.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich stated he would not allow a partial deal with Hamas in a post on X/Twitter on Wednesday, following US Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff's announcement that a new hostage deal proposal will be sent to Israel and Hamas.

"We need to continue tightening the rope around Hamas' neck and force it into a complete surrender deal with all the hostages at once," he wrote.

The United Nations Security Council has, for the first time since 7 October, held a meeting focused on the return of bodies held by Hamas in Gaza.

It comes following calls from Israel and bereaved hostage families to enforce international law and implement Resolution 2474.

The resolution, adopted in 2019, obliges both state and non-state actors to account for missing persons during armed conflict and return their remains.

“It’s been an amazing thing, the Abraham Accords. It’s my fervent hope, wish and even my dream, that Saudi Arabia, a place I have such respect for, especially over the last fairly short period of time—what you’ve been able to do,” Trump said in a speech in Riyadh on Tuesday, with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman looking on.

(May 11, 2025 / JNS)  Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee slammed on Saturday a report by The Jerusalem Post citing a “Gulf diplomatic source” saying that President Donald Trump is set to declare U.S. recognition of a Palestinian state “without the presence of Hamas.”

The original reporting was by Ali Hussain in The Media Line and reprinted by The Jerusalem Post.

As Trump prepares for Middle East trip, Evangelical & Israeli leaders increasingly anxious about his bid for Iran deal, relationship with Qatar

NAPLES, FLORIDA — As U.S. President Donald J. Trump prepares to travel to the Middle East next week, I’m picking up a growing level of concern from senior Israeli officials and influential Evangelical leaders about how the American commander-in-chief is approaching the Iranian regime and the tiny Gulf country of Qatar.

In conversations with nearly two dozen Israeli and Evangelical leaders in Jerusalem, and now here in the United States, I’m hearing three distinct messages.

First: “We trust President Trump more than any other American leader in history – and certainly far more than President Joe Biden – to stand with Israel, but why isn’t he even going to Israel on his first major foreign trip?”

The United States has asked Israel in recent days to delay its full-scale military operation in Gaza as part of efforts to exhaust negotiations for a hostage deal, two sources familiar with the matter told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday.

The request included two key components: Delay the full-scale operation in Gaza and enable ongoing negotiations to proceed in parallel with the military operation.

Irving Gatell/ De cómo Inglaterra, Francia y Canadá fastidiaron a Hamás

Hamas, Not Israel, Is Legally Responsible for Civilian Harm in Gaza

ESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 2,343, May 8, 2025

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: It is the obligation of every state to enforce the law of nations. This means there is a universal legal responsibility to support Israel’s ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the Middle East. Though it may appear that these operations sometimes break humanitarian international law, it is the jihadists’ use of human shields and location of military facilities within schools and hospitals that is responsible for the resulting harm to civilians. These actions, which constitute a violation of international law called “perfidy”, threaten not only Israel but the global legal order itself.

Israel’s war against jihadist terror stems from the universal right of self-protection. This right is intended to benefit not only the state defending itself against terror, but also the wider community of nations.

Inside a German military truck, soldiers guard a group of Jewish forced laborers en route to a grim task: The burial of the latest Jews gassed to death by the Nazis in a village in occupied Poland known as Chelmno.

Two Jews in the truck — Solomon Wiener and Michael Podchlebnik, both hailing from nearby villages — are planning to escape. They aim to let the world know about the unimaginable horrors occurring at this secret Nazi death camp, the first on a list that will also include such places as Auschwitz, Treblinka and Sobibor.

(April 27, 2025 / JNS)  Israel will only agree to a nuclear deal with Iran that eliminates Tehran’s capacity to enrich uranium, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the JNS International Policy Summit on Sunday.

The only way to prevent the Islamic Republic from building a nuclear weapon is to dismantle “all the infrastructure of Iran’s nuclear program,” he said, adding, “That is the deal.”

U.S. President Donald Trump’s Saudi Arabia visit has sparked speculation that he could give a nod in the direction of Palestinian statehood in Judea and Samaria, precisely as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appears to be reviving the possibility of Israeli sovereignty over portions of that territory.

Speaking before a closed-door Knesset committee on Sunday, Israel Hayom reported that Netanyahu said Israel could annex 30% of Judea and Samaria in the near future, while granting autonomy to the Palestinian Authority in other parts of that region, known as Areas A and B.

The statement said that the ending of the war would come with the release of all the hostages, the exile of Hamas terrorists, and the disarmament of Gaza.

The pope’s ‘divisions’ and the war against the Jews

Non-Catholics need to respect the powerful symbolism of the papacy. But neutrality about a genocidal struggle against Israel’s existence is neither moral nor acceptable.

(May 13, 2025 / JNS)  In an era when religion seems to be in steep decline throughout Europe and North America, it might strike some people as curious that the election of a new pope would be treated as such an earth-shaking event. But even as secularism increasingly dominates public discourse, the persistence of faith and the attention devoted to the leadership of a denomination so integral to the history of Western civilization as Catholicism is a reminder that some things transcend popular culture—and that is something all people of goodwill should celebrate.

Is Israel guilty of protecting its citizens?

It seems unbelievable, but we are still at war. What began as an invasion from Gaza by the Hamas terrorist group and its associates has ended up being a global war on different fronts, all under the direction of Iran.

Once again, Israel has proven that it is a safe and reliable country for its citizens. Since October 7, 2023, it has received thousands and thousands of rockets, missiles, and drones, and the deaths have been minimal.

It's hard to believe how few casualties it has suffered to date. If you compare its defense forces with those of my country, under normal circumstances thousands and thousands of citizens would have died here, but that hasn't happened in Israel because they take care of their citizens.

Israel approves plan to ‘conquer Gaza’ as Smotrich claims territory won’t be returned in any deal

Chief of Staff warned of the dangers that hostages could be "lost".

In the belly of the beast: Israeli captive Arbel Yehoud, 29, who had been held hostage by Hamas in Gaza since October 7, 2023, is escorted by Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters as she is handed over to the Red Cross in Khan Younis

In an operation dubbed “Operation Gideon’s Chariots”, Israel’s security cabinet has unanimously backed a plan to broaden the military offensive against Hamas by relocating the civilian population and “conquer Gaza”, despite warnings from the chief of staff that it could lead to the remaining hostages being “lost”.

An Israeli official quoted by the Times of Israel said the plan provided for the “conquering of Gaza and holding the territories.” The official said it would see the IDF take control of territory in Gaza, move the civilian population toward the south, attack Hamas and prevent the terror group from taking control of humanitarian aid.
