Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Hezbollah on Sunday about his army’s “lethal” power.

“The lethal striking force of the IDF stands facing Hezbollah,” said Netanyahu at the beginning of a cabinet meeting. This was in response to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah’s warning to Israel against further strikes in Syria.

Nasrallah said that his group could “at any moment … deal with … Israeli aggression.”

“Don’t make an error of judgement, and don’t lead the region towards war or a major clash,” said Nasrallah, claiming that Hezbollah has “high-precision missiles” capable of striking anywhere in Israel.

This development comes as Nasrallah said it took Israel “years” to detect cross-border tunnels.

“The Israelis discovered a number of tunnels after many years, and it’s not a surprise, the surprise is that these tunnels, they took some time to find,” said Nasrallah on the al-Mayadeen channel.

The IDF launched “Operation Northern Shield” in December 2018 to destroy the terror tunnels.

Hezbollah began digging cross-border attack tunnels before the 2006 Second Lebanon War, as opposed to three or four years ago, as the Israel Defense Forces has said, according to Israeli media.

According to Channel 13 news, the then-head of the army’s Northern Command, Benny Gantz, was told in 2005 by Col. Yossi Langotsky, adviser to the IDF chief of staff, that Hezbollah tunnels were being constructed into Israel. The threat was apparently ignored.
